on a slightly related note:
buckethead, of praxis fame [hence, the bill laswell connection] put out
a solo record last year entitled "day of the robot" [sub meta 9804] that
has some pretty phat drum n bass type shit goin' on [laid down by dj
ninj, if i remember correctly]...the overall feel is pretty evil and
dark, and it has some real nice grooves...the only downside is the
obligatory guitar flourishing [which at times isn't so bad, especially
when he's playing so fast you almost can't tell what's making the
sound]...
